This course aims at providing a comprehensive introduction to the essential principles of the academic discipline of Psychology by addressing such important topics as the history of psychology, neurobiological basis of behaviour, sensation and perception, memory and intelligence, personality and emotion, stress, coping and health, abnormal behaviour and treatment(s) and finally ethics and methods in Psychological research. For each of the above topics the major theoretical approaches, research findings, and historical and contemporary trends in the science of Psychology will be presented, explained and critically discussed.
